4. Empower providers to partner with recurrent UTI patients through education and a patient-centered approach.

Course Description: This course will review the 2019 AUA Guidelines and the 2022 updates on recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in the female patient. The Guidelines encompass recurrent UTI diagnosis, treatment, antibiotic and other methods of prophylaxis. There is a focus on antibiotic stewardship and best practices to avoid "collateral damage" from antibiotics. The evidence supporting the Guidelines will be presented, as will a treatment algorithm which includes the most current and safe antibiotic regimens. The second part of the course will focus on case presentations and management of a wide variety of scenarios. The faculty panel will discuss patient-centered care, evidence-based best practices, real-world scenarios and future directions.
