Information

Thursday, May 2, 2024 - 7:00 - 11:25 am

This new training with leading experts offers urologists the opportunity to develop hands-on experience in the currently underutilized but increasingly in-demand skill of Single-Port Robotic Surgery. Learners will gain significant hands-on experience and formative feedback directly from experts. Register by March 15, 2024 to receive a Hydrogel Model and additional simulation training materials from our faculty experts before the conference. Please be advised, estimated shipping times for some locations outside the United States may be prohibitive to receiving a Hydrogel Model and participating in Part II of this training. By completion of the course, learners will have gained the hands-on experience and knowledge of completing a radical prostatectomy and a partial nephrectomy using the Single-Port Robotic Surgery platform.

This training will be offered twice on Thursday, May 2, 2024, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. This is the morning session offering.

Learning Objectives
After completing this training, learners will be able to:

1) Describe the hardware and software differences between multi-port and single-port robotic platforms including the benefits and limitations of each technology.
2) Explain the approaches, positioning, access, and procedural techniques unique to single-port robotic surgery.
3) Apply the basic skills required for single-port robotic platform through use of hands-on hydrogel models. (i.e., Docking & Instrument insertion, camera articulation, Instrument collision management alternative methods for retraction).
4) Apply techniques to optimize a successful single-port radical prostatectomy -extraperitoneal & partial nephrectomy – retroperitoneal on a realistic hydrogel simulation.
5) Recall and demonstrate tips and tricks to successfully perform single-port radical prostatectomy -extraperitoneal & partial nephrectomy.
6) Avoid and troubleshoot potential errors during single-port radical prostatectomy -extraperitoneal & partial nephrectomy.
